Turns out it was just the long awaited ride from Hobbs, NM to get there. Darla made the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. "Your sales girls are awesome! Cheryl & Melissa hooked me up!I had my heart set on the Cascade HD Leather Jacket & Chaps in Santa Fe.They had the chaps, but not the jacket. I called over 20 HD stores looking for the jacket in my size. Finally a girl at the Pikes Peak HD Store in Colorado referred me to Wild West. This was on a Tuesday and I needed the gear for a weekend run by Thursday. They had the jacket! They discounted the chaps if I would get them through them instead of my local store. They saved me over $100.00 on the set and they got the it to me by Thursday morning! These two gals worked above and beyond what I had experienced in calling the other 19+/-stores.I definately will do business with them again and I recommend others to as well. Great experience!"

"A well spent 350 miles
The total experience surrounding my recent purchase was outstanding, with all contacts with dealer staff beyond reproach.
My local dealer in Roswell will not work with open figures, during purchase, They will add certain "add on" packages to mask the real cost of the base model, and never is the retail price even close to MSRP. Sales reps are not given the authorization to quote you the real price. All numbers/monies, are negotiated through the sales/finance manager as bargaining goes back and forth while the customer plays the waiting game. Additionally,it seems that the Service Dept, is torn between American and Metric knowledge.
At Wild West the experience is completely reversed. They, (Sales Staff)seem to realize that when someone walks in to buy something with expendable funding has already researched the internet for the past couple of months, and pretty much know the MSRP of certain bikes and options, or even their own trade in value. They don't make you sit there and cool your heels while they play the back and forth approval/dealing game between the Sales Representative, customer, and Sales Manager or some unseen Finance Officer.
My sales person was Darla Mason. Absolutely outstanding in every aspect of the purchase. She could quote prices, shipping dates, options, even weird questions off of the top of her head that was always correct. She ALWAYS answered the phone, and responded to e-mail. She seemed to always be there FOR ME, Yes, she always rememberd my name and who I was. The team work between her and Jerry Meeks was phenomenally professional, resulting in a comfortable trust.
During the order/waiting period, I had the occasion to question the Service Dept. about several things such as Exhaust systems and the fittage of certain options on the 08 model. I talked to Mike, and Chris mostly but everyone I talked to had answers, GOOD honest answers based on true knowledge and experience with Harley Davidson. The horror stories surrounding my local dealer such as oil drain plugs left loose, and lengthy waits on repairs are many resulting, in mis-trust and the preverbial me against them attitude.
Hats off the the store manager of Wild West Harley Davidson, his team reflects knowledge gained through training, and experience, with individual employee attitudes and ethics stemming from the seemingly pleasant working environment. Yes customers do notice.
This past year has seen the purchase of seven new Harley Davidson's from co-workers in my office; two from California, two from South Texas, and three from WWTHD. Yep, sometimes it's well worth the distance to be treated like an adult during purchase, and treated like a friend or fellow biker during service. 350 miles, yes, well worth the trip.
